There is a huge tapas culture here in Nerja and the best thing is that in many bars across town its free. So when you order a glass of wine or beer you get a free but small bite to eat. Many locals and increasingly visitors spend the evening moving from one bar to another which is a great social thing to do and your are drinking and eating at the same time. You will be surprised how full you get after 3 or 4 drinks.

Nerja caves

Simply jaw dropping is the only way to describe the Cuevas de Nerja. Discovered by some local kids back in the late 50's it has today become one of the largest tourist attractions in Spain with over 3 million visitors a year! If you don't have a car, buses run at regular intervals from Nerja. It takes about 10-15 minutes and should cost less than 1 euro. Or there is the cave train a red road train that runs from town to the caves are regular intervals.
